How to analyse your LinkedIn profile stats using AI

We are not focusing enough on LinkedIn profile analytics. Here’s how to streamline the process using AI.

As I started creating more content on LinkedIn, I realised that LinkedIn profile analytics is not as detailed as the stats you see on your Page.

You can access your post’s reach and engagement. You can also view your best-performing posts. Yet, you can’t extract your stats or filter them to compare additional metrics.

Whether you’re serious about your personal brand or simply feel curious to learn more about your post’s performance, I have a solution for you.

Using AI to analyse your LinkedIn profile stats

I decided to use Chat GPT Plus to organise and analyse my profile stats.

Here’s the process.

Step 1 - I copied the posts’ performance from the last 30 days. This was unfortunately manual by looking at all my LinkedIn posts.

Step 2 - I added the raw data to ChatGPT and asked it to create a spreadsheet. I confirmed what I wanted it to include.

Step 3 - I previewed the table and confirmed it includes everything I wanted

Step 4 - I asked ChatGPT to create a CSV file with the data so that I can download it (in case you want to share it with a client or keep it for your record)

Step 5 - As a follow-up, I asked ChatGPT to share insights about the posts’ performance. This step is not about stealing my job, it’s about summarising the findings and saving time from looking at all the data

Step 6 - The insights helped me spot some trends that I can also analyse further on my own.

Step 7 - I also asked ChatGPT to analyse the 3 key themes for the posts to analyse their success. This is an easy way to be more efficient when analysing your content.

It took me less than an hour to follow all the steps and use them as the starting point for my monthly analysis of a profile’s performance.

Granted, there are still manual steps but it’s also an easy process for everyone to follow without over-complicating it.

What you want to analyse in your LinkedIn profile analytics

Now that you have AI’s help to organise your stats, you might be wondering, what do I really learn from these?

You can use your LinkedIn profile analytics to:

  • Find your best-performing content themes

  • Compare your posts’ performance between different periods

  • Discover the types of reactions that each content theme tends to attract

  • Compare content formats and how the reach and engagement work for them

Depending on how you’re using LinkedIn and what you want to learn, there are many ways to reach useful conclusions.

Even if you’re simply curious and still at the start of your journey, it can help you create more engaging content in the future by analysing what works.

PS. You can still use the same steps to analyse your Page’s analytics - it can be helpful if you’re still new to measuring your marketing performance and need additional support.
